chat with an OCS intern
The Office of Career Services recruits student interns, like Teonja Tatum, to help with the daily functioning of the office.
Tatum is a senior studying public relations here at N.C. A&T. She has been a part of the OCS family since December 2020 and has contributed in ways like creating graphics, posting flyers, and reviewing LinkedIn profiles and résumés.
Tatum also had the opportunity to host panels and interview employers for the Office of Career Services Instagram Live Series.
“I feel that the job is very rewarding because as I am helping other Aggies, I am also helping myself,” Tatum said. “Through this experience, I know what employers are looking for, the timeline of recruiting season for early-career roles at companies, and how to sell myself and a potential candidate for postgrad positions I’m interested in.”
OCS is an environment that not only allows students to flourish and tap into a passion they already possess but also allows them to gain new skills that will help them in reaching their career goals.
“The amazing ladies of OCS have always been 100% supportive of all the ideas that I pitch. They have helped me gain a little more confidence in the work that I do in and outside the office,” Tatum said.
