February One Scholars Program
What is the February One Scholarship?
The scholarship is named in honor of the day in 1960 that four North Carolina A&T State University students energized a national sit-in movement by refusing to leave a segregated lunch counter in downtown Greensboro, NC without being served. The A&T Four are feted annually at the university's February 1 Celebration and honored in numerous ways across the university.
About North Carolina A&T: A land grant university established in 1891, NC A&T today holds the coveted Carnegie classification of “doctoral, higher research” and is this state’s third most productive public research university. NC A&T is a national leader in its undergraduate and graduate programs, producing more African American engineers than any other university and having similar impact in disciplines ranging from accounting to agricultural science to psychology and many points in between.
