Television Studio

The North Carolina A&T Television Studio is a daily destination for Journalism and Mass Communication (JOMC) students. It is a place where they can hone their video production skills using the latest high definition video equipment and broadcast news technology. JOMC students have full access to studio equipment and can complete projects and assignments there and in our multimedia labs.

The state-of-the-art TV Studio features a completely networked newsroom computer system that allows for the seamless creation of news broadcasts with high production value. The Crosby Hall multimedia labs contain robust iMac work stations loaded with Adobe’s Creative Cloud, a suite of industry-standard post-production applications used by professional video editors and motion graphic designers in news stations across the country.

All JOMC students benefit from certification awarded by the TV Studio in the use of professional-grade high definition video cameras. Once students are certified, they can check out a wide array of video and audio equipment for use overnight or on the weekend through an easy-to-follow online checkout system.

Faculty and staff work intensively with students in and out of class to ensure they are receiving comprehensive training in the TV Studio. One shining example is Aggie News and Views, a student-focused campus news show managed by one of the JOMC faculty members that is produced by JOMC students. The JOMC department is also home to the Aggie Filmmakers, a group of JOMC students interested in careers in filmmaking who meet throughout the semester to talk about movies and plan productions.

The studio also covers events on campus such as the annual February 1st Greensboro Four commemorations, Aggie sports events, and all other manner of events that take place on campus.

Equipment inventory includes:

  • Sony PXW-Z90 that shoot at 4K and JVC 750 camcorders
