B.A. English (English Secondary Education)
The Bachelor of Arts in English, English Secondary Education, prepares future educators to teach English at the middle and high school levels. Students wishing to teach secondary education may enroll in our Undergraduate Teaching Program. Students are required to have a 2.8 GPA and must major in English and minor in Education. About 30 students a year are admitted to the program.
Students receive coursework in both English and Curriculum and Instruction, culminating in a Student Teaching Internship, a 12-week intensive work experience at an area high school. Our students have been placed in schools around the Piedmont-Triad, including Page, Dudley, Northeast and Andrews (in High Point).
