Sigma Tau Delta

International English Honor Society, Theta Xi–North Carolina A&T State University Chapter
The North Carolina A&T State University chapter of Sigma Tau Delta has been a vital student organization in the Department of English for 40 years. With over 900 local chapters in the U.S. and abroad, Sigma Tau Delta is the second largest member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS). The purpose of the organization is to confer distinction for high achievement in English language, literature, and writing.
A candidate for membership will have a minimum of two college courses in English language or literature beyond the usual requirements of freshman English. The candidate must have a minimum of a B or equivalent average in English and in general scholarship, rank at least in the highest 35 percent of his/her/their class, and have completed at least three semesters or five quarters of college course work. A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required of seniors, a 3.15 cumulative GPA is required of juniors, and a 3.3 cumulative GPA is required of sophomores. Graduate Students are eligible for membership if enrolled in a graduate program in English or one of its specializations, have completed 6 semester hours of graduate work or the equivalent, and have a minimum GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.

Creative Writing Club
- The NCA&T Creative Writing Club, is open to all students who are creative writers, dreamers, thinkers, poets, and lovers of the word! You need not be an English major - or even enrolled in a CW course - to join our group and enjoy the fun. We welcome anyone interested in speaking, writing, and sharing creative writing projects with fellow creatives in the Aggie community.
