Built Environment Programs Brings Back the Popular Career/Social Event Again

The Construction Management Advisory Board in the Built Environment Department organized a social and career fair held at Revolution Mill on April 7th, 2022.  Over 18 companies purchased booths, and over 60 employers attended the event to meet and greet with students in the Construction Management, Environmental Health and Safety and Geomatics Program. Employers held a roundtable event on diversity and equity in the workplace, faculty introduced their research work in the department and students got to meet and greet for jobs opportunities. Many new relationships were formed. This event will be held again in Spring of 2023. Advisory Board members paid for food and drinks, while money for booths will go to scholarships for students and future events to benefit the student growth and development.

Drs. Ofori-Boadu, Ferguson, and White recieve NSF RAPID GRANT to  Develop Theories that Explain Decision Making Processes In STEM Students During Pandemics.

The Historically Black Colleges and Universities - Undergraduate Program supports RAPID projects when there is a severe urgency with regard to availability of, or access to, data, facilities or specialized equipment, including quick-response research on natural or anthropogenic disasters and similar unanticipated events, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.  The project at North Carolina A&T State University seeks to develop theories that explain and predict decision making processes in students studying in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields during and after pandemics. These theories will inform and transform the adaptation and resiliency of Institutions of Higher Education during future global disasters. Improved institutional resiliency will minimize disruptions to STEM student functioning and performance, reduce attrition, and strengthen progression into the STEM workforce. Undergraduate students are involved as researchers in this project. Announcement link is here.
