N.C. A&T and National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Virtual Town Hall
The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine are reaching out to minority-serving institutions (MSIs) around the country to schedule town hall-style forums to:
(1) disseminate the findings of a recent National Academies report (https://www.nap.edu/catalog/25257/minority-serving-institutions-americas-underutilized-resource-for-strengthening-the-stem)
(2) hear from MSIs regarding how we are working to advance STEM workforce preparation, education, and research capacity, and
(3) foster new discussions/solutions around these issues.
During N.C. A&T's Building the Next Generation of STEM Leaders town hall, participants will likely discuss, among other topics, the following:
- Models, programs, and strategies N.C. A&T is implementing that are effective or promising in increasing STEM workforce preparation, and the potential impact for the federal research agencies;
- N.C. A&T’s successes/challenges in building or enabling productive partnerships with the private sector/ government agencies around STEM research, education, and workforce preparation; and/or
- N.C. A&T’s successes/challenges in bridging the gaps (e.g., knowledge gap, capacity gap) between the institution and federal agencies and other research entities.
This event is supported by the Department of Defense HBCU/MI Program and the ECMC Foundation.
