Faculty and Administrators are always looking for opportunities for scholarships for Construction Management, Environmental Health and Safety and Geomatics students. Scholarships through the department are below. In addition, please contact the Office of Financial Aid for other University Scholarships (University Student Scholarships)

 Meritage Homes Scholarship

The Meritage Homes Scholarship Fund the purpose for establishing this fund is to provide five equal scholarships to a sophomore or junior student pursuing degrees in Geomatics and Construction Management. A committee appointed by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships shall choose the recipient(s) for the Meritage Homes Scholarship Fund in accordance with University policy. Five (5) equal scholarships will be awarded to sophomore and junior students during the 2022-2023 and 2023- 2024 academic year based on the following criteria:

1. Recipient(s) must be an undergraduate sophomore or junior student who demonstrates a sustained academic performance by maintaining a minimum 2.8 cumulative grade point average for this merit award

2. Recipient(s) must have a declared major in Geomatics and Construction Management in the College of Science and Technology. a. Preference will be given to students who reside from a historically marginalized community.

3. Recipient(s) will have the opportunity to intern with Meritage Homes beginning the summer of 2023 (relocation assistance up to $2,500 if internship is outside of the recipient’s market). Recipient(s) successfully completing an internship during the summer of 2023 may be eligible to reapply with no guarantee of award.

Ryan Companies Brilliance Scholarship Fund -NEW Scholarship!

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (the “University”) acknowledges with gratitude the generous commitment of $120,000 from Ryan Companies US, Inc. to support student scholarships. This fund will be known as the Ryan Companies Brilliance Scholarship Fund. The Donor(s) purpose for establishing this fund is to provide scholarships to junior or senior students majoring in Construction Management. A committee appointed by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships shall choose the recipient(s) for the Ryan Companies Brilliance Scholarship Fund in accordance with University policy. Two $6,000 scholarships will be awarded annually to two construction management students based on the following criteria:
1. Recipient(s) must be an undergraduate junior or senior student who demonstrates a sustained academic performance with a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
2. Recipient(s) must have a declared major in Construction Management in the College of Science and Technology.
a. Preference will be given to students from historically marginalized and under-served communities. Recipients must provide a 250-word personal statement for this award.
b. Merit will be a secondary factor for this award.

J.E. Dunn Scholarship (Construction Management and Geomatics)

We are excited to announce the annual scholarship opportunity from JE Dunn Construction Company!  The JE Dunn Scholarship Award is a $5,000 scholarship paid over the course of two years and will be awarded to 2 students from the NCA&T Built Environment department on an annual basis.

For JE Dunn, building a diverse and inclusive workforce means more than simply recruiting top talent - it means mentoring a new generation of builders while fostering a culture of innovation and creative thinking. JE Dunn believes in growing as a team and providing opportunities to set the foundation for a career in construction. Geared toward Geomatics, Construction Management and Environmental Health and Safety Students, the JE Dunn Scholarship  supports their 3-pillar strategy for diversity and inclusion: workforce, workplace, and marketplace.

Russell Hitt Memorial Scholarship Fund in the amount of $5,000 is available for each academic year from Fall 21 to Fall 25 for one outstanding student each year who maintain a 3.0 GPA and show active participation in student and department activities.  Please contact Dr. Alesia Ferguson (Chair of Built Environment) for more information. Announcements will be made each year for faculty to nominate students for this scholarship. 

True Homes Foundation Scholarship 

This Scholarship exists to specifically advance opportunities for minorities and/or women in the residential construction and land development industry. 

  • The scholarship is primarily for 4- year construction programs in universities within North and South Carolina. 
  • It is available to rising juniors or seniorswho are pursing degrees in Construction Management (or similar).
  • The Scholarshipwill be $5,000 for each the Junior and Senior year (total $10,000) and will be paid to the University from the True Homes Foundation.  This will be done in cooperation with National Housing Endowment (NHE).
  • True Homes Foundation may make up to 10 scholarship opportunities available to be granted to qualified candidates.  

We believe that this will help provide a solution to an ongoing need for students within our communities that we serve and the homebuilding industry. BLTECM - Student Scholarship

The BLTECM Prepare for Future Advisory Board was established to provide learning opportunities for personal growth, workforce productivity, and community service. BLTECM serves the diverse population of students by delivering quality educational programs and services, through partnerships with educational institutions. One avenue that BLTECM provides growth is by offering student financial aid through scholarship programs. The BLTECM Prepare for Future Advisory Board is pleased to offer the following student scholarship opportunity:

  1. BTLECM will offer $2,000.00 per year in student scholarships or $1,000.00 per semester.
  2. The scholarship will be offered to two students per semester at $500.00 per student.
  3. Students must provide a complete and accurate scholarship application by the deadline outlined.
  4. Upon review of applications, the Advisory Board will narrow down the selection to two students that must complete an interview via Zoom or other type venue. A student will be selected based on the interview and application documents and receive the $500.00 scholarship accordingly.

Selection of student to receive the scholarship is at the sole discretion of the board.
It is a pleasure to provide this scholarship opportunity to the students of the Construction Management program of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and look forward to all applicants. Aggie-National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)- Residential Construction Scholarships Program

Through a grant funded by the NAHB and True Homes, USA, the Department of Built Environment is offering $500 scholarships to new students who are interested in residential construction careers and enroll in the Construction Management program at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
Limited scholarships are available for qualifying students.

Stewart - Geomatics Student Scholarship

Stewart is pleased to announce the 1st Stewart Diversity Student Scholarship Award application. The scholarships are intended to support minority and/or women full-time students enrolled in Geomatics-related courses/activities at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.  To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled, full-time during the 2020/2021 academic year, have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and be a rising junior or senior. It is a pleasure to provide this scholarship opportunity to the students of the Geomatics program of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and we look forward to all applicants. 

Applications are due by April 23, 2021. The Stewart Scholarship Committee will review the applicants’ documentation and all will be notified of the results by May 7th, 2021.

Stewart will offer $2,400.00 per semester in student scholarships.The scholarships will be offered to two students per semester at $1,200.00 per student. Selection of students to receive the scholarship is at the sole discretion of the board.
