Public Relations Student
Society of America (PRSSA)
The student-led PRSSA group meets on campus at North Carolina A&T State University and hosts public relations and communications professionals in the local area, particularly graduates from the Journalism and Mass Communication department. The organization helps students gain the experiences and practical knowledge employers are seeking in candidates.
The organization offers internship listings, competitions, scholarships, awards and leadership opportunities. In addition, PRSSA provides publications, news and social media to keep students updated on the latest industry trends to make them one of the most-highly rated candidates among graduates. Students add to their tool box by participating in mock interview sessions, competing in case competitions, resume review and attending the annual national convention. The national organization was founded in 1967. Today PRSSA is made up of nearly 7,000 students and advisers in 300 plus chapters in the United States, Argentina, Colombia and Peru. The organization has a rich history of support from the parent organization, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
