Martin Endowment

Over nearly 15 years of dynamic, principled and transformative leadership, Chancellor Harold L. Martin Sr. has built a handsome legacy, inspiring Aggie Nation and many others beyond our university.

As he now prepares to retire, we hope that his legacy inspires you to support two initiatives that not only will serve as ongoing reminders of the exemplary service that he and First Lady Davida W. Martin gave to A&T, but will do so in a way that perpetuates the educational, research and service transformation they brought to our university.

  • The Harold L. Martin Sr. Professorship in Engineering will support an outstanding faculty member in one of the numerous disciplines in the nationally prominent A&T College of Engineering. Chancellor Martin began his academic career there as an assistant professor of Electrical Engineering in 1980; by the time he stepped down as dean 14 years later, he had gained approval for the university’s first two doctoral programs and grown the college into America’s largest producer of Black engineers.

Help A&T continue to build upon that foundation of excellence through a gift to the Martin Professorship in Engineering.

  • The Harold L. Martin Sr. and Davida Wagner Martin Endowed Scholarship will ensure that worthy, high-performing students have the funding support they need to pursue an education at A&T. Each of the Martins earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from A&T before going on to complete doctoral degrees at Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. They know well the value of an A&T education and are great examples of how far one can go with a degree from A&T.

In their spirit of educational achievement and the opportunities they both helped make available to so many students, make a gift today to the Martin Endowed Scholarship!
